Director of Marketing and Special Events

Reporting to the President / CEO of Bayley, the Director of Marketing and Special Events is responsible for overseeing all Marketing activities. The activities include all marketing efforts, special events and Be Connected program growth. This position also is responsible for supervising a Marketing Administrative Assistant and Marketing PR Specialist.

• Maintains and supports mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Sisters of Charity and Senior Care Corporation.
• Responsible for the general morale of all staff. Provides a quality work environment through teaming principles, effective team leadership, and a demonstrated positive attitude. Participates and / or approves the hiring, discipline, development, and evaluation of personnel.
• Proactive in the development, maintenance and updating of policies and procedures for the Marketing department functions.
• Prepares and implements annual operating budget necessary to support proposed marketing programs and marketing department.
• Coordinates and shares Raiser’s Edge and other marketing data as appropriate.
• Responsible for annual special events and related fund raising goals as approved by President/CEO.
• Communicates directly with Director of Gift Planning regarding all development activities affecting marketing objectives and goals.
• Attends and may facilitate monthly Marketing/Sales staff meetings.
• Oversees marketing staff and production of Newsletter and Annual Report.
• Oversees Marketing staff on press releases, ad copy, website updates, social media marketing, print publications such as brochures, flyers, post card mailing and all usage of organization’s brands and logo per specifications.
• Responsible for coordinating community marketing events (i.e. sponsorships for outside events, visits to community organizations).
• Creates and submits articles for outside publications including SC Mission Newsletter and the Intercom.
• Helps promote campus department events as requested.
• Schedules and participates in community presentations to promote programs and services.
• Involves volunteers in relevant special events, public relations and marketing activities. Oversees Special Events Committee when needed.
• Fosters, develops and maintains positive and effective relationships with development staff, board members, local community leaders, residents, members and their families.
• Serves on community and professional associations, including Delhi Business Association, that are in support of the strategic plan and mission of Bayley.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills with a high level of attention to detail required.
• Proficient in word processing software, preferably Microsoft Word for Windows.
• Previous experience in coordinating special events.
